Answer:

258 in²

Explanation:

In the picture we see 2 shapes. We can split the shapes into 2 different shapes to find the area.

When we split it in half horizontally, we have 1 rectangle with length 24 inches and width 6 inches. We also have a 2nd rectangle with length 19 inches and width 6 inches.

Now that we have the measurements, all we need to do is find the area of the 2 rectangles and add the areas together to find the total area of the shape.

  • Rectangle 1
  • A = l x w
  • A = 24 in x 6 in
  • A = 144 in²
  • Rectangle 2
  • A = l x w
  • A = 19 in x 6 in
  • A = 114 in²
  • Total Area (Rectangle 1 area + Rectangle 2 area)
  • Total Area = 144 in² + 114 in²
  • 258 in²
