One angle is 144° and the other is 36°

Explanation:

Two angles of a linear pair create a straight angle therefore they add to 180°

- the other angle

(4x)° - one angle

x + 4x = 180

5x = 180

÷5 ÷5

x = 36

4x = 4•36 = 144

Checking: 36+144 = 180
