The formula for percentage error os written as:

(Approximate value)/Exact value × 100

Here,

Approximate value = 8.50g/mL

Exact value = 8.69g/mL

Slotting the values into the formula will be:

= (Approximate value)/Exact value × 100

= (8.69 - 8.50)/8.50 × 100

= 0.19/8.50 × 100

= 0.0223529 × 100

= 2.2235%
