y = 3

Here the value of x is -1 . So putting the value of x in the eqn.
y-3=2(x+1) gives :-


y-3 =2(-1+1) \\=>y-3=2(0)\\=>y-3=0(anything multiplied with 0 gives the product as 0)


=> y=3
