The measure of two angles are (6x-12) and (2x+32)°. What is the value of x if the

two angles are supplementary?

x = 20°

Two angles that are supplementary add up to 180°, therefore:

(6x - 12)° + (2x + 32)° = 180°

Combine like terms:

6x + 2x - 12 + 32 = 180°

8x + 20 = 180°

Subtract 20 from both sides:

8x = 160°

Divide both sides by 8:

x = 20°
