Answer:

-17w+1380

Explanation:

Here we know the price for both classes and how much time Karen spends taking classes at Westside, which means we need to know how much time Karen spends taking classes at Pinewood to make an expression.

If the total amount of hours Karen is spending taking classes is 12 hours, and the amount of time she is spending taking classes at Westside is w hours, we know the amount of time she is spending taking classes at Pinewood is (12-w) hours. This is because the amount of time she is spending at Pinewood is the rest of the total amount of time she is taking classes after subtracting the amount of time she spends at Westwood.

With this information we can make an expression like this

98w+115(12-w)

The 98 and 115 are from the amount of money in dollars it costs Karen to take classes at both of these places, and we use them in the equation to find out how much money total she would spend at that place by multiplying the amount of credit hours she takes classes for by how much money it costs her per credit hour. From here we just have to simplify the expression to get our final answer.

First multiply everything in parenthesis

98w-115w+1380

Now combine like terms

-17w+1380

And that is your final expression
