Explanation:

(1)/(x) - (1)/(x - 2) = 3

× All by x(x-2) both sides of equation

(x-2)-x = 3x(x-2)

x-2-x = 3x² - 6x

-2 = 3x² - 6x

0 = 3x² - 6x +2

3x² - 6x + 2 = 0

and use the formula

x = \frac{ - b + - \sqrt{ {b}^(2) - 4ac } }{2a}
