A photograph is an example of visual texture. You can see things in the picture that have textures, but you can't physically feel them. My cat has rough texture. I can see the fur on my cat and I can physically touch it and feel the softness of it. The carpet on my floor has rough texture. I can see the bumpy, soft texture and I can feel it when I walk on it with bare feet.
