How do i simplify simplify 3x + 5 - 2x - 2 ?

combine like terms:
3x+(-2x)= x
5+(-2)= 3
* the subtraction sign cancels the addition sign bc they are opposite operations, therefore you subtract.

add your results and you get: x+3
