Lately i've been thinking back and really wanted to make the most of this quarantine to reconnect with everyone. Life is always so busy that I often forget how fast time really passes. How have you been? The last time saw you________. Please do tell me what you have been up to. Once this quarantine ends we really need to reconnect!

This is just a general reconnection format. The factors behind why you haven't been in touch with your uncle will definitely change your tone. If it was a positive or negative break off. What your uncle's personality is like. Or what your personality is like will change the way your letter is worded.

Personally I would start off by asking questions, such as how he is doing, and how he feels. I would go on to talk about what has happened to me, and include the happy things, such as "I am starting college". I would also maybe attach pictures along or trinkets. I wouldn't be sure on jokes though because they might offend him if you haven't met him yet.
