Today we still see evidence of civil disobedience sparking progress and change. In recent elections, we ve seen candidates on both the Democratic and
Republican sides promote new ideas, many of them very anti-establishment. We've also seen citizens stage their own forms of disobedience to effect
change and promote new ideas. These examples reveal that "rebellion" can, in fact, lead to profound change.

However, these changes cannot be achieved if there are portions of the population that support authoritarian, rational, indiplined policies and that encourage social disservice and intolerance and disengagement with social equality, as we have now seen within our country. This current scenario in which we live in the midst of political extremism and an unprepared ruler reinforce the population's need to educate themselves politically, combat this type of situation and commit to their civil responsibilities, voting and encouraging their fellow citizens to vote rationally, effective and taking into account the need for an egalitarian future, which can only be achieved by rational and intelligent policy.
