First we will move the 5 to the other side so we can get rid of the fraction. To do this we will subtract 5 from both sides:

Now we can multiply both sides by 6 to get rid of the fraction:

-6 * 6 = x/6*6

This gives us:

-36 = x

So x in this equation = -36

2. -1 = (5+x)/6
