In a sentence or two, explain how Solfege hand symbols would be used to learn a new piece of sheet music.

When I was in choir, I used Solfege to sight read new pieces of music. I figured out the key signature first, so I'd know where "Do" was. Then, the hand symbols help you stay on the right note as you are singing the music.
