4y-y=-7+10
3y=3
3y/3=3/3

y = 1

Explanation:

4y - 10 = 1y - 7

add 10 to both sides

4y = 1y + 3

minus 1y from both sides

3y = 3

divide by 3 on both sides to get y by itself.

y = 1
