(2n)/(n^2) (exponential rule for fraction is the number subtract each other)


2n^(-1) (from the top n exponent of 1 minus bottom exponent of2 (1-2=-1))

since the n is a -1 exponent to make it positive you put it in the denominator

(the reason it's not n/n^2 is that the two cannot just disappear or be taken away unless you are solving for something and the n/n^2 can also be simplified into the 1/n)
