Could someone just explain how to solve this for the two sides? We learned 30 60 90 triangles not 29 61 90 triangles

Explanation:

Use SOH-CAH-TOA.

Sine = Opposite / Hypotenuse

Cosine = Adjacent / Hypotenuse

Tangent = Opposite / Adjacent

Side a is adjacent to the 29° angle, and 14 is opposite of the 29° angle. So use tangent:

tan 29° = 14 / a

a = 14 / tan 29°

a ≈ 25.3

Side c is the hypotenuse, and 14 is opposite of the 29° angle. So use sine:

sin 29° = 14 / c

c = 14 / sin 29°

c ≈ 28.9
