Floyd weigh 160 pounds and is gaining 5 pounds per month. John weighs 140 pounds

and is gaining 10 pounds per month. How many months will it take for Floyd and John to
weigh the same amount?

The answer is 24 months. You can solve this by creating an equation where John and Floyd’s weight will be equal to one another. In order to do that, x will represent the amount of months. Therefore, the equation would be 160+5x=140+10x. You then solve algebraically and should get 24 months!
