Here, The equations are:

y = x+1........(i)

4x + y = 6........(ii).

Now,

Putting equation (i) in (ii)

4x + y = 6

4x + (x + 1) = 6

5x + 1 = 6

5x = 6-1


x = (5)/(5)

Therefore, x= 1

Putting the value of x in equation (i).

y = x+1

y = 1+1

Therefore the value of y is 2.

Check:

y = x+1

2 = 1+1

2=2 ( True ).
