Today, 5 friends went out for lunch. Their total bill was ,$36.70 including tax and gratuity. They decided to split the bill equally and each paid with a $10 bill. How much money will each person get back?

Answer:

Each person will get $2.66 back.

Explanation:

First you multiply 5 by 10 because there are a total of 5 friends that will pay $10 each.

You now have $50 which is all of the money of the friends combined.

The bill was $36.70 So you will need to subtract the bill from the money that the friends put in ($50-36.70) Which leaves the friends with $13.30 in left over change.

You now need to disperse the left over change amoung the 5 friends.

$13.30 devided by 5 is $2.66

Each friend will get $2.66 in change back.
