For sure it's decreased foreign competition, because tariffs increase the prices of foreign-made products and therefore there is less competition for American companies- people will buy American-made products because they are cheaper. It's less competitive.

I considered decrease in quality, but I don't think that is an answer because due to the higher prices of foreign goods, consumers are willing to buy American goods without the price and quality dropping further.
