You add 5+3=8 then you times 8 by the numbers in parentheses which give you (16+42) then you add then together 58 and now divide by 4 =14.5

You Can Use Pemdas. P for ( ). E for exponents. M for multiplication. D for division. A for addition. S for subtraction. And you would follow that on the equation.
