While solving inequalities we always combine like terms

We try to move x terms on one side. so we remove -2x from left hand side

To remove -2x , we do opposite operation

Opposite of -2x is +2x. so we add 2x on both sides.

5 – 2x+ 2x < 8x +2x – 3

5 < 10x - 3

5 < 10x - 3 is a correct first step in solving 5 – 2x < 8x – 3
