Jim and Abby each bought burgers and fries from the concession stand at the fair. Jim bought 3 burgers and 2 orders of fries for $17. Abby bought 2 burgers and 4 orders of fries for $18.

Based on the information above, how much did the concession
stand charge for each burger?

How much did it charge for each order of fries?

HINT:
b = price for a burger
f = price for french fries
Jim bought 3 burgers and 2 orders of fries for $17.

B = price for a burger
F= price for fries

Jim equals 3b + 2f = $17

Abby equals 2b + 4f = $18

Multiply the first equation by -2 & use the elimination to solve

I need would really appreciate if whomever helps me to show the steps. Thank you.

Answer:

3b + 2f = 17

2b + 4f = 18

-6b - 4f = -34

6b + 12f = 54

8f = 20

f = $2.50 fries

3b + 2(2.5) = 17

3b + 5 = 17

3b = 12

b = $4 burger
