x = 7

y = -2

Explanation:

4x + 3y = 22 ---------------------(I)

5x - 4y = 43 ---------------------(II)

Multiply(I) by 4 and equation (II) by 3. And then add the equations

(I) * 4 16x + 12y = 88

(II) *3 15x - 12y = 129 {Add & thus y will be eliminated}

31x = 217

x = 217/31

x = 7

Plug in the value of x in equation (I)

4*7 + 3y = 22

28 + 3y = 22

3y = 22 - 28

3y = -6

y = -6/3

y = -2
