1st method:-

( - 40)/(5) can also be written as
- 40 * (1)/(5)

We know that anything we multiply ( except 0 ) with a negative number , the product is also a negative number.

2nd method:-

( - 40)/(5) = - 8 We can write - 8 as
8 * ( - 1)

We know that anything we multiply ( except 0 ) with a negative number , the product is also a negative number.
