Given :

Recipe for a batch of applesauce uses 2 and one-half pounds of apples.

To Find :

The amount of apples needed to make three-fourths of a batch of applesauce.

Solution :

1 batch applesauce uses 2.5 pounds of apple .

Let , x be the amount of apple required to prepare
(3)/(4) of a batch of applesauce.

So ,

x=(3)/(4)* 2.5\\\\x=1.875\ pounds

Therefore, apple required is 1.875 pounds.

Hence, this is the required solution.
