Answer:

(P/2) - W = L

Explanation:

P = Perimeter

W = Width

L = Length

Formula of Perimeter

=> P = 2L + 2W

Now, let's simply that formula to make L alone.

=> P/2 = 2L/2 + 2W/2

=> (P/2) = L + W

=> (P/2) - W = L + W - W

=> Length = (P/2) - W

For example, let's take the perimeter of a rectangle is 14cm. Its width is 2cm. Length is L

Using the formula,

=> (P/2) - W = L

=> (14/2) - 2 = L

=> 7 - 2 = L

=> L = 5

Let's plug in our answer.

=> 2(5) + 2(2) = 14

=> 10 + 4 = 14

=> 14 = 14

So, our formula is correct.
