Explanation:

Formula for finding the co-ordinate of the mid point through section formula :-


(x',y') = ((x^1+x^2)/(2) , (y^1+y^1)/(2) ) where (x' , y') are the co-ordinates of the mid-point of the line segment whose co-ordinate points of ends of the line segment are (x¹ , y¹) & (x² , y²) .

In the question ,

x¹ = 4

y¹ = 4

x² = 4

y² = - 18

Using the values above in the formula ,


(x',y') = ( (4+4)/(2) , (4-18)/(2) ) = ((8)/(2) , (-14)/(2)) = (4,-7)
