Answer:

(-6 , 4.5 )

Explanation:

We have to find the mid-point of the line segment joining the points (-2,-3) and (-10,12). A mid-point divides a line segment into 2 equal parts with equal ratio i.e. 1 : 1 .

According to the Section Formula , the mid-point of a line segment joining two points (x¹,y¹) & (x²,y²) is :-

(x' , y') = ((x^1+x^2)/(2) , (y^1+ y^2)/(2) ) where ( x' , y' ) is the co-ordinate of the mid-point of the line segment.

Here in the question ,

x¹ = -2

y¹ = -3

x² = - 10

y² = 12

Putting all these values in the formula ,

(x',y') = ((-2-10)/(2) , (-3+12)/(2) ) = ( (-12)/(2) , (9)/(2) ) = (-6,4.5)
