Alone, this shape cannot have the area solved in one step. So, you must break it up into multiple pieces.

For this, we can break it up into a rectangle, and a right triangle.

The area formula for a rectangle is
area = l*w

The area formula for a right triangle is
area = \frac{1}2} b*h

To find the area of the rectangle, multiply 14 * 18 = 252 m^2

To find the length of the triangle, subtract 20 - 14 = 6

To find the height of the triangle, subtract 18 - 11 = 7

So, it is
(1)/(2) 6*7 = 21 m^2

21 + 252 = 273 meters squared
