Given :

Height of a falling object t seconds after being dropped from a height of 262 feet is given by f(t)= 262-16t^2 feet.

To Find :

The average velocity between times t=3 and t=4 s .

Solution :

Velocity is given by :

V=(df)/(dt)=-32t

Now , average velocity is given by :

V_(avg)=(V_4-V_3)/(4-3)\\\\V_(avg)=((-32)(4)-(-32)(3))/(1)\\\\V_(avg)= -32\ feet/sec

Hence , this is the required solution .
