Explanation:

Lets say you had 2 points, (x₁, y₁) and (x₂, y₂). The midpoint of these two lines would be:


((x_1+x_2)/(2),(y_1+y_2)/(2))

Lets use (6, -2) for (x₁, y₁) and (10, 4) for (x₂, y₂):


((6+10)/(2),((-2)+4)/(2))=((16)/(2),(2)/(2))=(8,1)

So the midpoint of AB would be (8, 1).
