Why is it advisable to use tongs or test tube holder when taking a beaker off a laboratory burner?

Answer: The beaker may have heated up greatly over the process of being on the burner, and if you take it off the burner with, say, your bare hands, you run the risk of taking your hands off of it because its hot, and then drop the beaker, most likely shattering it
