The mean score on a set of 17 tests is 70. Suppose two more students take the test and score 68 and 61. What is the new​ mean?

the mean is basically the average of the numbers

we can calculate that by using this formula


m = (sum \: of \: terms)/(number \: of \: terms)

first add both terms


61 + 68 = 129

then divide the value 129 by number of terms

we know that the number of terms is two so


(129)/(2)

so when we divide the answer is equal to


64.5
