So , AC = AB + BC

In the question , length of AC = 3x + 3 , length of AB = 2x - 1 ( or -1 + 2x)

& length of BC = 11.

We know that AC = AB + BC . So putting the given values here :-

`3x+3 = 2x -1 + 11\\=>3x +3 = 2x+10\\`

Solving this linear eqn. gives

`3x + 3=2x+10\\=> 3x-2x=10-3\\</p><p>=>x=7`
