x=1.5 assuming the equation was 3(2x+1)=8x and x8 was a typo. This is because when u distribute the 3 into the parenthesis to get 6x+3 you then isolate the variables and the constants on one side by subtracting 6x from both sides. This will result in 3=2x and this devided is x=1/5
