Answer:

a= -1

b= -1

Explanation:

-6a+5b=1 ------------> equation 1

5b=1+6a

b=(1+6a)÷5

6a+4b=-10

(Substitute b's value)

6a+4(1+6a)÷5= -10

6a+(4+24a)÷5= -10

(I made the denominators the same by multiplying 6a*5 and it's denominator 1*5)

(30a+4+24a)÷5 = -10

54a+4= -10*5

54a+4= -50

54a= -50-4

54a= -54

a= -54÷54

a= -1

substitute a's value in equation 2 or 1

(I substituted it in the second equation)

6a+4b= -10

(6*-1)+4b= -10

-6+4b= -10

4b= -10+6

4b= -4

b = -4÷4

b= -1

Answer:

a=-1, b=-1 (-1,-1)

Explanation:

use elimination method which first will cancel the a then you solve

9b=-9 divide 9 = -1

plug it -1 in one of the equation

-6a +5(-1)=1

-6a-5=1 move 5 to the other side by adding 5 to both side

-6a=6 divide by -6 which = -1

then to check whether these work just plug these in one of the equation to check your answer.

-6(-1)+5(-1)=1

6-5=1

1=1
