A rectangular table is two times as long as it is wide. If the area is 50 ft2, find the length and the width of the table.

Given,

Let breadth be x.

According to the question,

length = 2x

Area = 50ft^2

we know that,

Area of rectangle ( A) = l × b

or, x × 2x = 50 ft^2

or, 2x^2 = 50ft^2

or, x^2 = 50ft^2/2

or, x^2 = 25ft^2

or, x = 5 ft

Now,

2x = 2×5ft =10ft

Therefore, length is 10ft and breadth is 5ft.
