Explain how to convert 2.7 × 104 from scientific notation to standard form, then give the answer in standard form.

When converting scientific notation to standard form you will move the decimal the number of times that is shown in the exponent which in this case is 4. So , you move the decimal to the right since it is a positive 4 then that would give you the number 27,000 which is in standard form.

The exponent positive 4 means we move the decimal four spaces to the right.

The 2.7 becomes 27,000 after doing so


2.7 * 10^4 = 27,000

If the exponent was negative, then we would move the decimal point to the left.
