The equation are:

y=x

x - y = 0......(i).

y = x+2

x - y +2 =0......(i).

From equation (i).


slope(m1) = ( - coeff. \: of \: x)/( coeff. \: of \: y)


m1 = ( - 1)/( - 1)

Therefore the slopeof 1st equation is 1.

Now,

From 2nd equation.


slope(m2) = ( - coeff. \: of \: x)/(coeff. \: of \: y)


m2 = ( - 1)/( - 1)

Therefore the slope of equation 2 is 1.

As per the condition of parallel lines,

m1= m2

From both equation we got,

m1=m2=1

So, the lines are parallel.

For perpendicular,

m1×m2 = -1

1×1 is not equal to -1.

So, they are not perpendicular.

So, The answer is Option A.

Y=x will be on the point of the graph
Y= x+2 will be two units up but still positive so they will never interest
