The perimeter of a rectangle is 150. The length of the rectangle is 9 more than the width. Find the width.

Length = Width + 9

Perimeter = Length + Length + Width + Width

Perimeter = Width + 9 + Width + 9 + Width + Width = 150

4(Width) + 18 = 150

Subtract 18 from both sides:

4(Width) + 18 - 18 = 150 - 18

4(Width) = 132

Divide 4 on both sides:


(4(Width))/(4) =(132)/(4)

Width = 33
