For anyone who has read the the book, Holes: 1. How might digging holes every day in the hot sun turn a bad boy into a good boy? 2. Why did Stanley's family have him sent to camp? 3. What is scapegoating? How might one feel good by doing it? 4. How can being hopeful be a curse? Do you agree or disagree? Why? 5. Why do you think Mr. Pendanski is called "Mom" by the boys at the camp? 6. How does coincidence play a part in Stanley's being charged with sneaker theft? Explain in detail. Thanks in advance!

Answer:

I can Answer #1

Step-by-step explanation:

1.) Here is a quote to start you off: "You take a bad boy, make him dig holes all day in the hot sun, it turns him into a good boy. That's our philosophy here at camp green lake," said Mr. Sir

The Warden says that digging holes will give them self confidence and will make them sorry about their faults. Holes are pretty negative in the book. they represent hardship, adversity and grueling physical labor. But it's not always negative, i mean, Stanley and Zero found treasure in a hole!

I can answer, 2) He got sent to camp green lake because he was caught with a pair of valuable shoes that were stolen from a show. They fell on him while he was walking home, and not knowing they were stolen, he took them home to his dad because his dad experimented on shoes.
