x - 6(+6) = -3x + 22(+6) cross out -6(+6) and add 22+6=28


x = -3x + 28 add 3x on both sides


x (+3x) = (+3x)-3x + 28 x+3x=4x and cross out (+3x)-3x


4x = 28 divide 4 on both sides


(4x)/(4) = (28)/(4) cross out 4 leave x and divide 28 and 4 =7


x=7
