Explanation:

Hey there!!!

When you closely see in figure, we find that,

90° and (2y + 5)° are supplementary,

So, 90° + 2y +5°=180° { supplementary angle is always 180°}.

or, 2y = 180°-95°


y = (85)/(2)

Therefore the measure of angle y is 42.5°.

Again, (5x-17)° + (3x - 11)° = 180° (They are linear pair).

8x - 28° = 180°

8x = 180°+28°


x = (280)/(8)

Therefore the measure of angle x is 26°.
