The midpoint formula is: ((x1+x2)/2 , (y1+y2)/2)
The two points that are given are (-3,1) and (1, -4)

(x1+x2)/2 , (y1+y2)/2
(-3+1)/2 , (1+(-4))/2
(-2/2 , -3/2)
(-1, -3/2)
