He would get 14.60 back.
1 pound = 3.60
.5 pound = 1.80
1.5 pounds = 5.40
So then you subtract 5.40 from 20
20 - 5.40 = 14.60

He would receive $14.6 reason: 1.5x3.6=5.4,,,,20-5.4=14.6
