8 = 2/3(x - 4)^2

Take the sqrt of both sides

Sqrt(8) = 2/3(x - 4)

Divide each side by 2/3

(3 * sqrt(2)) = x - 4

Add 4 to both sides

(3 * sqrt(2)) + 4 = x
