An article on a website can be considered a source
⇒ as long as you cite it formally typically at the end of the paper
Ways you can check the reliability of website:
- look at who is the author, because if author's main profession is unrelated to the article, that is a bit of a red flag
- look at the date of the article, to check if the information in the article is still relevant
- Check for grammar/spelling errors, that is also another red flag as typically untrusty sources rarely put in the time to ensure that their source is flawless
- check website design or layout, a reputable company will ensure that the website should be easy to navigate
- read the content, if something doesn't seem to logically follow, search it up online and compare it with multiple sources (which you don't need to cite as long as you it only to check the reliability of another source)
- p.s. if you need some help to find sources, look at the bottom of a Wikipedia article and look at their citations for the different sources. The types of sources vary in their reliabilty though they are generally a good starting point (look at the image attached to show what I mean)
Hope that helps!
