Explanation:

If one pound is $0.94 and she bought 3.25 pounds you multiply 3 by 0.94 and get $2.82 (we multiply by 3 to make it easier and to deal with the .25 later) then now we deal with the .25, since .25 is 1/4 in fraction just find out what 1/4 of .94 is which is .23 cents. So add $2.82 and $0.23 and you get $3.05
