Mrs. Jones baked 48 cookies. Her son ate 1/4 of the cookies, then her husband eight1/6 of the remaining cookies. How many cookies are left?

Explanation:

First you divide 48 by 4, you then subtract that from 48, so 48-12= 36. next you divide that by six, which is 6, 36-6=30.
